Family Therapy at The Ridge: Healing Together
Recovery is rarely a solo journey. At The Ridge Ohio, we believe that for long-term success, the family deserves its own dedicated path to healing. Led by Dr. Becky Morrissey, our Family Therapy program is a core pillar of our support services, designed to help families process their unique experiences and build a healthy foundation for the future.

Our Values: A Safe, Independent Space
We understand that trust is the foundation of therapy. Our program is built on a commitment to professional integrity and genuine support:
- Complete Clinical Independence: Your family’s work is entirely separate from your loved one’s individual counseling. There is no HIPAA overlap or “backchannel” information sharing with the primary clinical team.
- A Focus on Your Healing: This is not a tool for manipulation or a way to “get info” from the family. It is a dedicated space for you to process your own feelings, trauma, and concerns.
- Unwavering Commitment: We believe deeply in the value of the family unit. We provide consistent, thoughtful care that focuses on the relational dynamics necessary for a sustainable recovery.
How Family Therapy Works
Family therapy at The Ridge is adaptive, meeting you exactly where you are. Sessions typically last about an hour and are tailored to your family’s specific needs.
Depending on your situation, Dr. Morrissey may facilitate:
- Emotional Processing: Sessions devoted to discussing each person’s feelings, concerns, and the impact of the addiction journey.
- Recovery Education: Interactive sessions focused on addiction, trauma, and effective communication to reduce misunderstandings.
- Evidence-Based Approaches: We utilize a variety of specialized methods, including Behavioral Couple Therapy, Brief Strategic Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Family Peer Recovery Support.
Whether you engage in in-depth integrative work as a whole family or focus on specific relational dynamics, our goal is to help you identify causes and develop the coping skills needed to move forward together.
Take the Next Step in Your Recovery
Healing the family is a vital step in the lifelong process of recovery. If you are ready to explore how family therapy can support your journey, we are here to help.
